Welcome to another delicious culinary adventure! Today I’m bringing you a gluten-free puff pastry appetizer that’s pure magic: a perfect combination of sweet and savory flavors that will leave your guests speechless. As we’ve told you before, Italian blood runs through our veins! Its influence is always present at our table, and today will be no exception.
If you haven’t met Nonna Silvi yet, head over to her YouTube channel and discover her charm. Personally, I’m hooked! Although, unfortunately, her recipes are not suitable for celiacs. But don’t worry! That’s what we’re here for – to work some magic! We’ve adapted her delicious puff pastry with cheese, figs, and ham, using a gluten-free dough that everyone can enjoy.

And here’s the truth: we didn’t make the dough from scratch. We bought it at the supermarket, because if there’s one thing celiacs know, it’s that our Achilles’ heel is getting good bread, let alone puff pastry. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it!
So get ready to surprise everyone with this delight. Let’s get cooking!
Ingredients
- Gluten-free puff pastry dough
- 250 gr. Ricotta cheese
- 250 gr. Gorgonzola cheese
- Fresh figs
- Sliced Iberian ham
Instructions
1. Prepare the dough: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the gluten-free puff pastry dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and prick the surface with a fork to prevent it from puffing up too much during baking.
2. Cheese base: Mix the two cheeses with a whisk until you get a homogeneous mixture. Spread it evenly over the puff pastry dough.

3. First bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, until the cheese begins to brown. Meanwhile, wash the figs and cut them in half, removing the stem.
4. Assemble the antipasto: Remove the pastry from the oven and arrange the figs on top, covering the entire surface. Bake again for another 10 minutes.

5. Serve: Remove from the oven and add the slices of Iberian ham on top. If desired, drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper and fresh herbs. Ready to enjoy!
Tip
This antipasto is ideal as an appetizer or for sharing at a gathering. You can pair it with a glass of red wine to enhance the flavors. And remember, the riper the figs, the greater the explosion of flavors.

And there you have it! A perfect puff pastry antipasto to connect with rich Italian culinary tradition. We encourage you to dare to try this recipe and surprise your loved ones with this delicious dish.
